Strap on your crampons (ice climbing shoes) and explore the ice kingdom of Vatnajökull National Park with a guided small-group hike to the glistening Vatnajökull glacier.
Topping the charts as the largest glacier in Europe, this family-friendly tour gets you access to this mighty landmark. You'll journey there from Skaftafell, the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vatnajökull National Park.
Your experienced guide will teach you how to use your hiking equipment and proceed to lead you on a tried-and-true path to the glacier. Look up and admire the vast scale of these white ice giants as Hvannadalshnúkur, Iceland´s highest peak, rises from the frosty fields in the distance. Wind your way past bottomless crevasses and unique ice formations while your guide shows you how this precious ever-changing landscape is invaluable to our ecosystem.
