Kyoto: Guided Tea Ceremony or Japanese Calligraphy
About this experience
Participate in traditional Japanese cultural activities at a 150-year-old Kyomachiya near the Kamogawa River.
You can take part in a tea ceremony, Japanese calligraphy, or both (depending on your selection).
Join an authentic tea ceremony using premium Uji matcha (available for purchase; limited to one per group) and traditional sweets.
Practice Japanese calligraphy and create your own artwork with guidance to take home as a souvenir.
Wear a haori (kimono-style jacket) during the activity. After the experience, take photos inside the historic townhouse with the river as a backdrop.

HMBotel notes for choosing your ticket
Compare the inclusions above with your plans: admission, a guided visit and a combination ticket may cover different services. The venue name alone is not enough to compare them.
Check the meeting point and arrival instructions before adding another activity. The displayed duration describes the activity; plan travel from your hotel and your return separately.
Booking and payment take place with Tiqets. On that final page, confirm the date, participants, visit language, final price and cancellation rules; an indicative HMBotel price is not a guarantee of availability.
